Road Running

Road running has suffered from the increase in traffic on the Islands roads in the last decade or so and many of the road runs which Manx Harriers used to hold have fallen by the wayside.   The Douglas to Castletown race is no longer held and the Peel to Douglas race is no longer held on the A1 road and has become a trail event held on the Peel to Douglas railway line.  Outside of the Easter Festival of Running the last remaining true road run is the Anna Maria Cutillo Foxdale 6 which is run in August as part of the ‘No Rest for the Wicked’ series and starts near Foxdale primary school following a hilly 6 mile (approx.) route which takes in the Hope at St. Johns up the steep hill towards Archallaghan before bearing right onto the Lhoobs road towards the Eairy dam and back to Station Road in Foxdale.

Other road runs include the  Manx Harriers open 10K around the NSC raceway.
