Manx Harriers hosts a round in the Isle of Man Cross Country League and also organises the Isle of Man Cross Country Championships in rotation with Northern and Western A.C.
Over the years many different courses have been used by the Club from Middle Farm in Kewaigue to Abbeylands Farm to Ballachrink in Baldwin. As expectations rose in terms of venues offering modern toilet facilities etc., Nobles park was used extensively in the 90’s moving to Pulrose Golf Course and more recently to Ballanette in Baldrine with the kind permission of Stewart Clague allowing us the use of his offices and facilities there. The League caters for athletes from under 9 (age 7) all the way up through the veteran age groups and the season runs from October through to March.
The Club arranges annual trips to the Lancashire County Cross Country Championships where we have had success at both team and individual level. We also have an annual trip to the English National Championships and the Club regularly has a number of athletes selected to run for the Lancashire County at the Inter County Cross Country Championships.
Recently the Club has had some great successes at high level domestic competition with Club members winning younger age group titles and senior medals in the English National Championships and Manx Harriers have had several athletes selected for national and international teams over the mud.
