Hi all,
This is to remind everyone of what is happening this coming year. Andy Fox will be away much of the time apart from the odd weekend or school holiday. As such, we are trying to cover our coaching provision as much as possible in the meantime. The plans for our 365 sessions are as below and then the overall plan is listed on the
Training Page which includes coaches contact details so you can check directly if wanting to attend an even group session eg High Jump or Sprints.
Thursday 365 sessions for Under 13s and 15s and older athletes will start up again on Thursday 18th September. Under 13s will train with Steve Partington 6 to 7pm and Under 15s and older with Nigel Armstrong from 7 to 8pm. These sessions take place at the track and there is a charge to access the track paid to the NSC staff in the trackside office. This charge was £2.60 at the time this was posted. Steve Partington will forward information about this session on MH Facebook page so keep an eye on this eg is the weather poor and we need to cancel etc etc.
Monday 365 sessions will not restart until Monday 3rd November at SNHS Lower School Sports Hall at Bemahague. The session will remain indoors until Easter 2026 when it will revert back to the track. Please follow MH FB for information regarding these sessions and when they are on etc. Julie Stanfield will be responsible for posting information etc. The cost for this session is £2 paid directly to the coaches at the session. This is to help pay for the hire of the sports hall.
The other general/365 sessions will not take place in Andy’s absence – Junior Middle Distance group for 11 and 12 year olds as well as teenagers on a Wednesday and the waiting room session for 6 year olds on a Tuesday, both at the track. Hopefully, these will restart in Summer 2026.
The Training Page outlines all other sessions that the club runs from Race walking to Marathons, Pole Vault to sprints as well as jumps and throws. Do have a look through it and if you are ready to join one of these all we ask is that you contact the coach first to discuss this and then you can see how things progress.
We hope you will agree that even with a few changes there are still plenty of options and help on offer, to young as well as older athletes. We wish you all the best in your athletic journeys.
