The first round of the Up and Running sponsored Winter Walking League is taking place on Sunday 30th October at the NSC perimeter roadway with signing on at the Manx Harriers clubhouse from 9.15 am, racing commencing at 10 am.
Round one is scratch (everyone starts together) handicaps for subsequent rounds are then calculated and are either started on handicap (slowest starts first) or sealed handicap when all start together and handicaps are added after racing. The winner of the League is the highest point scorer with three of the five rounds to count.
Races distances are 10km for seniors, 5km Seniors/juniors and junior events of 3km, 2km and 1km depending on age groups.
Entry fees are £5 for athletics club members and £7 for unaffiliated athletes and junior age group walkers are £1
Please note that earphones must NOT be worn on open roads rounds and the wearing of high viz clothing on open roads courses is also mandatory.
